Day 4: Job Corps in Palmer

Hello, this is Sione reporting on the bus ride on July 22, 2010. Today’s ride was fun. I got to take pictures of sleeping beauties. I ENJOYED THE RIDE A LOT!!! I don’t know about the other kids, though. So many people were sleeping and some people just talked the whole way. I know I did, but I slept on the way back. We stopped the bus at the musk ox farm and we didn’t even go in. It was a little funny, people on the bus were singing, sleeping, and some just did nothing. Everybody that was singing on the bus was very good at singing, except for me. I’m not a singer at all. Not all of us had a good time, but some of us did. It got quiet every now and then. Actually, most of the time, it was quiet on the bus. I know we enjoyed something about the ride, but it would’ve been better if we could’ve listened to our iPods or something, but it was ok. It was fun.

Hello, this is Tasha, continuing the trip to Job Corps in Palmer. The trip to Job Corps was a lot of fun. When we got there, we started off by eating lunch with everybody in the cafeteria. After lunch, we broke up into 3 groups. Each group went into different directions. My group started off by looking in the student dorms and seeing where the students can go during their free time. Then we walked into all kinds of classes for different types of careers. Some of the classes we went to were Health Occupations, Culinary Arts, different kinds of workshops and business classes. There were other classes to see, but we didn’t have any time to check them out, so we went back on the bus.

Hey, it’s Orlando writing about the disappointment of not getting to see the musk ox farm. I’ve seen a musk ox at the zoo but I really wanted to see one at the farm. Getting to the farm in Palmer was the fun part. Not seeing the musk ox on the farm was not fun.

I overheard someone asking if we could pick vegetables. We rushed to the entrance of the farm, but we had little time so we got back on the bus and it was a waste of time. I was disappointed and, before I knew it, asleep on the bus. I think I counted musk ox instead of sheep as I dozed off. This is Orlando signing off.
