The hike to Gull Rock was exhausting and painful on our feet, but while on the way there were some cool spots to rest. We also had to wait for others to catch up because some of us wanted to quickly get there and back to the fishing ground. Sadly we only made it 5.05 miles. We only needed .05 more miles until we reached Gull Rock. I was upset and disappointed, but it was fun, except for the all the plants that got in the way and hit my face. That was annoying and felt like people smacking me. The best part I liked about the hike was scaring Jamie and Callie to death by pretending to be a bear walking in the grasses. When we finally got back to the fishing ground, I felt like had I walked around the world, but it was only 10 miles.

Day 3: Fishing at Hope and Hiking to Gull Rock
Today I went fishing and at first I didn't like fishing and I said it's boring and it's only for old people. But everyone had fun, some caught two or more fish, some caught one, and a few of us caught none at all, and of course I was one of them. The water was very freezing, the flow of the water was very quick. At the end everybody gathered together with the fish that they caught and washed them clean. They were pretty big and thick. I had fun and kept trying my best to catch one fish, but sadly I didn't. One thing that made me sad was when Sonnet was hitting the fish's head with a big hard rock, and she was hitting it with all her power to make sure it was dead. It was the saddest thing that I saw that day. But I was happy to try out fishing and actually learned how to control a fish pole and how to kill a fish after you catch one while it's alive, so hopefully I'll catch one fish next time we go fishing again.

Awesome day, I think we were the only people on the river catching fish!
ReplyDeleteThis day was great! And Spade is right, we were the only ones catching fish on the river. We even made the news catching fish (and a rock!).
